ALKAḤI, MORDEKHAI
ALKAḤI, MORDEKHAI (1925–1947), Jew executed by the British in Palestine. Alkaḥi was born in Petaḥ Tikvah and grew up under difficult circumstances. He joined I.Ẓ.L. in 1943 and gained a reputation for his courage and initiative. He was captured together with Yeḥiel Drezner and eliezer kashani on Dec. 29, 1946, while attempting to kidnap some British officers, and with his companions was hanged in Acre. -BIBLIOGRAPHY: Y.
